Batmobile

DgWKw I have absolutely no idea how this became possible. This is not the same batmobile that was seen at various places of the city when the movie The Dark Knight was screened. It looks like a completely useable one and the rider appears to be respecting the State’s helmet laws and wears one too. Whatever it is, it looks awesome and cool. Would be great if they made more of these.

Kawasaki ZX-6R

Mid-weight sports bike champion. That is what you call this Kawi ZX-6R as. This 600cc, liquid cooled, inline four cylinder engine produces a healthy 107 hp. Though the power might be less than its competitors, the Ninja does exceptionally well on other fronts.

The bike is a born racer. If there is one bike that you could take to the tracks right out of the box, it is this one. The motorcycle handles corners well and the rider can feel the pulse and feedback very well. The looks of the bike is just as good as any other Ninja around. The turn indicators integrated to the side fairings looks really good. The upper-middle range is where the Kawi feels alive. The bike pulls from 9000 rpm to 15000 rpm swiftly. The brakes do a great job and the slipper clutches perform flawlessly.

If you are into racing and you want to do it right away, this is the bike for you.

Ducati Streetfighter S

The Ducati Streetfighter S belongs to the naked sports bike category and is a brand new one from Ducati’s stable. This Ducati has a 1099 cc motor at its heart that produces nearly 135 horses which is close to its racing brothers.

The machine is composed mostly of carbon composite materials to reduce its weight and also features Ducati Traction Control. The DTC or the Ducati Traction Control is a traction control mechanism that is currently provided only by Ducati and by no other manufacturers. The DTC works so well that the rider doesn’t even know that it exists. It reduces the motion of the rear wheel once it senses that the rear wheel is spinning faster than the front wheel. This technology is sure to become a standard feature on all motorbikes in the future.

SF is definitely not for the faint hearted though. It simply puts out huge amount of torque in the 4000 to 10000 rpm band that propels the machine forward like a bullet out of a gun which is sure to buy tickets for the rider.

Yamaha YZF-R1

The Yamaha YZF R1 is Yamaha’s flagship super bike model. the machine is powered by a 998 cc liquid cooled engine. The 2009 model R1 borrows engine technology from the YZR M1 which is Yamaha’s MotoGP motorcycle. It borrows cross plane crank shaft which is a standard in the M1.

The cross plane crank shaft gives the machine the linear torque output of a ‘V’ twin engine and the pace of an inline four engine at the same time. The 998 cc engine produces a healthy 179 hp at the crank and around 135 hp at the rear wheel. The vehicle is the first one to incorporate the cross plane crank shaft concept in a production motorcycle.

R1 also boasts Yamaha’s proprietary YCC-I and YCC-T technologies for its fuel injection system. The R1 is an excellent vehicle to be used for short distances rather than for the longer runs as it is designed entirely based on its cousin M1 with its racing instincts. The machine has generously used aluminium and carbon fiber to reduce its weight and lower its center of gravity so that the machine gets a better handling and sharp racing cues.

MTT Turbine Y2K

The MTT Turbine Y2K is the most insane motorcycle ever conceptualized, designed and built. The bike is the product of Marine Turbine Technologies based in southern Louisiana.

The machine is the result of mating of two interesting things- bike and jet engine. Yes! A jet engine. The machine is powered by a gas turbine engine from the Rolls Royce stable that powers the Bell helicopters. The engine is capable of producing a peak power of 320 hp at 52,000 rpm and a massive torque of 425 ft/lb at 2000 rpm.

These massive figures catapults the bike from stand still to 320 kph in 5.4 seconds and the vehicle is capable of a blinding top speed of 402 kph. This machine is street legal and an even more powerful machine is currently on the offing named MTT Turbine Streetfighter that boasts a standard gas turbine engine that produces  420 hp. The motorcycle runs on kerosene and diesel and is currently the world’s fastest production motorcycle.

Suzuki Hayabusa

The Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa is the flagship enthusiast category superbike from Suzuki’s stable that has been around since 1999. The current model machine is powered by a massive 1340 cc, four stroke, four cylinder, liquid cooled engine that generates about 175 to 180 hp.

With their new model Hayabusa is all set to takeover the crown again as the world’s fastest production motorcycle from its rival the Kawasaki ZX14-R Ninja. There have been claims that the Hayabusa is capable of speeds in excess of 340 kmph and that makes it the fastest piston driven motorcycle ever in the history easily with its rev limiter turned off or disabled. The street legal version however would come with a rev limiter that limits the beast to a top speed of 199 mph.

The Busa is easily the most brilliantly designed machine and kudos for its aerodynamics that makes this machine reach unimaginable speeds.

Lamborghini Motorbike

When Lamborghini decided to use their already established name on things other than cars, they decided to use it on a motorcycle. Yes! A motorcycle and a Lamborghini Motorcycle did exist. It was built by French performance bike maker Boxer bikes on behalf of Lamborghini.

The machine used technologies derived from the aerospace industry and used only the best parts available then. It has a 1000 cc engine that could produce around 130 hp, powered the machine. The most striking feature of this motorbike is its aerodynamic body. This gave the bike top speed in excess of 160 mph. The generous usage of light weight aluminium let the machine to weigh as low as 170 kg. The power of the motor combined with its light weight made this one a formidable performance machine.

The bike was inspired by Lamborghini Countach, which was then Lambo’s flagship model. Only a handful of these machines were built and were darn expensive.
